Immunisation

The Townsville-Mackay Medicare Local runs an Immunisation program to support general Practice in achieving childhood immunisation targets and additionally provides practical support and education for staff in effective Immunisation practice.

Working collaboratively with stakeholders and general practices, TMML aims to continue improve and maintain the immunisation coverage rates within the region.  Promotion of the General Practice Immunisation Incentive Program (GPII) of achieving childhood immunisation targets of a minimum of 90%, will assist in the reduction of vaccine preventable diseases. Highlighting the importance of best practice in immunisation, distributing immunisation resources and information and planning workshops are some of the ways TMML can assist General Practices with the meeting the immunisation targets.
