Independent, not-for-prodit and evidence based, NPS enables better decisions about medicines and medical tests.
NPS provides local activities through agreements with Medicare Locals. A local Facilitator is available to provide information and support to GPs, pharmacists, other health professionals and consumers.
Assist prescribers, health professionals and consumers to make decisions about medicines to ensure the most effective, safe and appropriate treatments are used
Practice visits and small group meetings are available on an ongoing basis.

NPS activities are free, may count towards qualification for payment under the Quality Prescribing Initiative (QPI) of the Practice Incentives Program (PIP) and provide continuing professional development opportunities for health professionals.
